Salary: USD 104,400 - 196,364 / annual
Braze is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the SMS and Channels team, responsible for building and scaling SMS and RCS messaging capabilities within the customer engagement platform. This is a full-stack role where you'll ship high-value features quickly, own key technical areas from concept to delivery, and help maintain platform reliability as traffic scales.
You'll work on the complete lifecycle of messaging channels—from composition and sending to message responses and analytics. The team also owns supporting services including internal click tracking and link shortening. This is an individual contributor role focused on technical execution and ownership, collaborating across engineering, product, and other functions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing full-stack features for SMS/RCS channels
- Owning technical initiatives from concept through production
- Building and maintaining distributed systems at scale
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams on feature delivery
- Contributing to platform reliability and performance
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years of full-stack development experience
- Professional experience building distributed systems at scale
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, data structures, and algorithms
- Self-starter with excellent communication and organizational skills
- Team-oriented mindset
