Socure is building identity trust infrastructure for the digital economy, verifying identities in real time and preventing fraud at scale. As a Software Engineer II, you'll join the global engineering team to design and build scalable, reliable backend systems powering identity verification and fraud prevention products.
You'll own backend services and REST APIs from design through production, developing secure, maintainable application-layer systems. Your work will span distributed systems, asynchronous workflows, messaging, retries, and fault tolerance. You'll collaborate closely with Product, Infrastructure, Data Science/ML, and Engineering teams to solve complex problems with direct customer and business impact.
Key responsibilities include building microservices and event-driven systems, improving performance and reliability, participating in technical design and code reviews, and troubleshooting production issues. You'll contribute to engineering standards and CI/CD practices across the organization.
You bring 2–4 years of backend software engineering experience with strong coding skills in Go, Java, or similar languages. You have solid computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems. You're experienced with REST APIs, microservices, SQL/NoSQL databases, and event-driven architectures. Familiarity with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka/SQS/RabbitMQ, and CI/CD is expected. You demonstrate strong ownership mindset, can take features end-to-end, and communicate technical decisions clearly.
