Hinge Health is transforming musculoskeletal (MSK) care delivery using AI-powered technology and human-centered care models. As a Software Engineer II (Fullstack), you will build and extend secure, scalable services powering our platform, which serves over 20 million people across 2,550+ employers through 50+ health plans and ecosystem partners. You will work on small interdisciplinary teams designing end-to-end solutions that directly impact user outcomes. Your responsibilities include profiling systems to identify and resolve scaling bottlenecks, maintaining high code quality through thoughtful reviews, and sharing responsibility for healthy live site operations in a continuous deployment DevOps culture. In your first 3 months, you will integrate into our trunk-based CI/CD workflow, building and deploying meaningful features every sprint while tackling multi-path problems. By 6 months, you will own end-to-end solutions, proactively improving service maintainability and availability while developing through a structured professional development plan. Within your first year, you will help define team OKRs, drive operational excellence through incident root-cause analysis, and contribute to architecture and developer tooling decisions. You are a continuous learner who spikes on novel solutions and explores new technologies across our stack (Node.js, TypeScript, React, AWS). You engage in constructive code reviews, foster quality culture, and tackle complex problems with resilience and predictable delivery. You have 2+ years of professional software development experience with TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, React.js, and SQL/NoSQL databases, plus cloud-based architecture experience (AWS, serverless). A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is required. Preferred qualifications include React Native mobile UI development, test-driven development (TDD), event-driven architecture, experience on teams of 5+ engineers, and expertise in low-latency, highly resilient client-server architecture. Hinge Health operates a hybrid model requiring 3 days per week in-office in San Francisco (8-hour days). The office is dog-friendly. The company is headquartered in San Francisco with additional offices in Montreal and Bangalore.
