Supabase is building a high-performance CI/CD execution platform similar to Buildkite, GitHub Actions, and Blacksmith CI. The platform executes developer pipelines reliably at scale, integrates deeply with source control, and automates build, test, and deployment workflows. In this role, you will design and build the distributed systems responsible for running CI/CD pipelines securely and efficiently. Key responsibilities include: - Design and improve the core orchestration engine managing the lifecycle of creating, merging, and rebasing Supabase Branches - Provision ephemeral sandboxed execution environments on EKS/ECS for running untrusted build workloads from connected git repositories with securely managed secrets - Implement job scheduling that scales to thousands of concurrent builds - Optimize and reduce pipeline runtimes with caching, artifact storage, and dependency reuse - Manage retry, timeout, cancellation, and failure-propagation logic to ensure predictable pipeline behavior under failure conditions - Instrument the full pipeline lifecycle with observability tooling to surface traces, metrics, and structured logs to end users - Develop configuration files (JSON/TOML) and integrations (Terraform/Pulumi) that allow teams to easily define, trigger, and inspect pipelines in code Ideal candidates have strong software engineering skills in Go and TypeScript, 3+ years building and operating cloud infrastructure or distributed systems at scale, and deep AWS knowledge including SDKs and IaC tools. A production operations mindset, ownership mentality, and ability to communicate across technical and non-technical audiences are essential. Experience in async or globally distributed teams is preferred. Supabase is a fully remote, globally distributed company of ~400 team members across 60+ countries. The company has raised over $1B including a $500M Series F. All employees receive equity (ESOP), tech allowance, comprehensive health benefits, annual company off-sites, and professional development budgets. The culture emphasizes async work, building in public, and deep open-source commitment.
