As a Software Engineer, Backend, you will design and build scalable, reliable backend services and APIs that form the foundation of Plaid's products. You'll work across the full stack, collaborating with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to ship features that make financial services more accessible and transparent. Key responsibilities include: - Building and maintaining scalable backend systems and APIs that power Plaid's core products - Writing clean, efficient, well-tested code and participating in code reviews to maintain high engineering standards - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and deliver features that solve real customer problems - Building automated tests, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting production issues - Contributing to technical design discussions and helping improve engineering practices across the organization - Taking ownership of projects early and seeing your work reach millions of users You should have 1-4 years of post-internship software engineering experience with a proven track record of shipping reliable systems or features at scale. Strong problem-solving skills, high ownership mentality, and a collaborative mindset are essential.
