Jerry is building the first app to simplify car ownership—from shopping and insurance to repairs and maintenance. The company is seeking a dedicated Social Media Manager to lead its Reddit strategy and community presence. In this role, you will own Jerry's official Reddit presence across brand-owned subreddits and organic engagement in automotive, financial, and consumer communities. You'll develop and execute a Reddit-specific strategy that respects platform culture and community guidelines, establishing Jerry's authentic voice in spaces like r/personalfinance, r/mechanicadvice, and r/whatcarshouldibuy. Key responsibilities include: - Developing Reddit operations strategy and managing Jerry's official presence and community engagement - Creating a community playbook that defines Jerry's voice—knowing when to provide technical advice, share relevant content, or step back - Producing high-effort, informative content including text posts, guides, and visual breakdowns on car ownership, insurance, and maintenance tailored to specific subreddit cultures - Managing reputation and crisis response by turning frustrated discussions into trust-building moments through transparent, helpful engagement - Tracking analytics including karma growth, thread sentiment, share of voice, referral traffic, and Reddit's influence on search indexability and LLM citations - Feeding organic Reddit insights, emerging pain points, and trending topics back to Product and Content teams You bring 2+ years of community marketing or organic social strategy experience, ideally with Reddit expertise in consumer tech, fintech, or insurtech. You're a Reddit native who understands platform dynamics, karma systems, and unspoken community rules. You write naturally for Redditors and have a visceral dislike of corporate-speak. You're technically savvy about how Reddit content feeds into Google SGE, LLMs, and organic SEO. You're thick-skinned, empathetic, and can handle public skepticism with grace and honesty. You understand that long-term trust and educational content build far more brand equity than quick conversion tactics.
