Socket.dev is seeking a Social Media Manager to own the company's presence across all developer and security-focused platforms. This is a full-ownership role where you'll manage Socket's content strategy, production, and community engagement as a product—tracking metrics, identifying trends, and adapting strategy based on data.
Key responsibilities include managing Socket's multi-platform presence and identifying expansion opportunities; tracking performance metrics and platform trends to inform content strategy; producing high-impact short-form content by editing long-form podcasts, webinars, and interviews into 30-60 second clips optimized for each platform with captions and visual hooks; transforming technical blog posts and product updates into carousels, memes, and screen-recording walkthroughs; running a consistent weekly content calendar; and engaging directly in developer conversations, comments, and trending topics to build Socket's recognizable presence.
You'll need deep fluency in developer culture, humor, tools, and pain points; exceptional meme capabilities applied judiciously across platforms; proven short-form video and audio editing skills backed by a strong portfolio; demonstrated storytelling ability across campaigns, not just single posts; distinct voice and editing approach for each platform; and a strong sense of ownership over channels and content. AI-native workflow is essential—you should use modern AI tools by default as part of your process. Experience in DevRel, technical marketing, or technical newsrooms is a bonus, as is prior solo ownership of a content calendar end-to-end. Comfort with security, infrastructure, and open source subject matter is valued. You'll work remotely with quarterly team off-sites.
