Gusto is hiring a Social Media Manager to own organic social strategy and execution across brand channels including LinkedIn, X, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook. This role serves as the operational backbone of the internal social team, reporting to the Head of Social and collaborating with an Influencer Lead and external social media agency. Key responsibilities include: developing and executing organic social strategy aligned to brand voice and content pillars across all major platforms; running the executive and founder social amplification program by partnering with leadership on strategy, coordinating content drafting and asset production, and managing publishing and engagement on executive accounts; serving as the primary day-to-day partner to the social creative and production agency, including briefing campaigns, reviewing output, and approving content; coordinating the organic-to-paid flywheel with performance marketing to identify high-performing organic content for paid amplification; building and maintaining social content reporting and share-of-voice analytics, contributing to monthly performance narratives for marketing leadership; leading social support for major product and partnership launches in coordination with product marketing, comms, and legal; managing the social tooling stack including publishing, listening, and analytics platforms; and driving proactive community management and trend-hijacking while serving as escalation point for sensitive engagement and crisis response. The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of hands-on organic social media management for consumer or B2B brands, including content strategy and channel management; experience managing external creative or content agencies with strong briefing, review, and feedback capabilities; comfort with social analytics and listening tools and ability to translate performance data into clear stakeholder narratives; strong cross-functional collaboration skills with comms, legal, CX, and marketing teams under time pressure; sound judgment on brand voice, risk, and escalation for sensitive or fast-moving content; and familiarity with social publishing/listening platforms like Sprout Social and content editing tools such as Canva or CapCut.
