Notion is seeking a Marketing Manager to drive demand generation and growth initiatives for the SMB sales segment and startups in Japan. This role combines strategic planning with hands-on execution, partnering closely with the Japan sales organization, global marketing teams, and external agencies.
Key responsibilities include developing deep product knowledge and understanding the SMB buyer journey to identify high-impact marketing plays. You will own end-to-end execution of events and webinars, from planning and logistics through post-event lead management and SDR coordination. You'll execute demand generation campaigns using marketing automation platforms, managing audience segmentation, nurture programs, and gated content offers in coordination with Japan and global marketing teams.
The role requires partnership with APAC Marketing Operations and BizTech to maintain GTM systems including marketing automation platforms, Salesforce, Outreach, and Sansan. You'll own lead and pipeline reporting for the SMB segment, tracking KPIs and assessing pipeline health to inform program optimizations. Additionally, you'll increase awareness of Notion's startup program and drive trial acquisition through localized, high-velocity campaigns.
Required qualifications include 5–7 years of B2B demand generation experience with a proven track record of hitting growth goals through email campaigns, webinars, and integrated programs. You need proficiency with marketing automation platforms, Salesforce, Outreach, Sansan, and Figma. Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with sales, content, SDRs, and operations teams are essential. You should be customer-centric, insight-driven, and experienced in end-to-end campaign development and measurement. Business-level English proficiency (written and verbal) is required, and previous experience working with global teams is expected.
Nice-to-have qualifications include being a Notion power user and advocate, plus experience interacting with startup founders, VC firms, and incubators. While deep AI expertise isn't required, intellectual curiosity about AI tools and willingness to adopt them for smarter work is valued.
