Pico is a global financial services infrastructure company providing market data services and managed infrastructure solutions to the capital markets community. They are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer Team Lead to lead their regional APAC SRE team based in New York.
In this role, you will manage a distributed group of SRE engineers across the APAC region, overseeing their schedules, responsibilities, and day-to-day operations as a player-manager within the SRE department. You will serve as a customer-facing leader, working directly with clients, development teams, and production teams to ensure successful implementation and operation of Pico's Redline products.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing the APAC SRE team
- Assisting clients in solving problems and maximizing value from Redline products and services
- Responding promptly to production issues and providing workarounds
- Replicating customer issues and verifying fixes for patches and releases
- Managing production environments including software upgrades, routine changes, proactive monitoring, and performance tuning
- Collaborating with development engineers and infrastructure teams for issue resolution and change management
- Implementing automation and scripting to elevate the managed practice
- Continuously improving monitoring tools, inventory systems, and runbooks
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or MIS), prior experience as an operational team leader, and expertise with financial services front office systems, market data tickerplants, and exchange technology. You should have strong Linux and performance tuning knowledge, understanding of Intel-based architecture and IT networking, and programming/scripting experience (Python, C/C++, or Java preferred). Excellent customer service skills, communication abilities, and adaptability are essential.
The position is hybrid-based in New York with weekly office time and work-from-home flexibility. Travel may be required occasionally. The role involves supporting multiple geographies (EMEA, USA, APAC) and may require early/late shifts, weekend testing, and bank holiday work.
