Salary: USD 157,000 - 176,000 / annual

Lightmatter is revolutionizing AI data center infrastructure through photonics technology. Recently valued at $4.4 billion following a $400M Series D, Lightmatter is scaling rapidly across all departments. As a Signal Integrity Engineer, you will drive next-generation product development from concept through deployment. You'll join the Signal Integrity, Power Integrity, and Packaging team, influencing package and system architecture while solving complex interactions across digital, analog, and photonics domains. Key responsibilities include planning and executing signal integrity engineering for high-speed interfaces (PCIe, UCIe, SerDes); analyzing channel characteristics including S-parameters, insertion loss, return loss, and crosstalk; performing simulations (eye diagrams, jitter analysis, equalization); collaborating with hardware designers and PCB layout engineers; advising peers on impedance matching and routing; conducting lab measurements using oscilloscopes, network analyzers, TDRs, and VNAs; participating in design reviews; and documenting findings for stakeholders. You'll need a B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of related experience. Required expertise includes signal integrity analysis for high-speed interfaces, proficiency in Ansys Siwave, HFSS, and Keysight ADS, strong transmission line theory knowledge, familiarity with SerDes and UCIe protocols, PCB design experience, lab equipment proficiency, and scripting ability (Python, JavaScript, Ocean, or SKILL). Preferred qualifications include strong debugging skills, CMOS process technology understanding, cross-team collaboration ability, and independent problem-solving.
