Quince is a manufacturer-to-consumer (M2C) fashion and accessories brand on a mission to deliver high-quality essentials at fair prices sustainably. The company has raised Series D funding and is expanding aggressively into European markets, starting with the UK and planning further rollouts across the continent.
You will own the organic search strategy (SEO and AEO) for Quince's European operations, building the playbook from the ground up in markets where the brand is still establishing itself. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role reporting to the global SEO leadership based in the US.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Own the UK/EU SEO and answer engine optimization (AEO) strategy, building market-level roadmaps that reflect local competitive dynamics rather than copying the US approach. Decide which categories to prioritize and define what winning looks like in each country.
- Partner closely with the global SEO team to adopt technical standards while flagging where one-size-fits-all approaches break down in-market. Feed European requirements back into the global roadmap.
- Drive AEO across Europe, building Quince's presence in AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and emerging AI discovery surfaces. Own structured data coverage, entity and brand consistency, and measurement.
- Make localization a search advantage by working with copywriting and localization teams to ensure content targets genuine local search demand, not translated US keywords. Build keyword and demand research foundations for each market.
- Own international search architecture in-market: hreflang and market targeting, URL/domain structure, canonical logic, indexation of localized catalogs, and crawl health across European storefronts.
- Shape the storefront with merchandising and site teams to influence category taxonomy, navigation, on-site search, and PLP structure to serve organic discovery alongside conversion.
- Work closely with growth marketing to understand organic-paid overlap, cannibalization, and where organic can reduce paid spend. Bring an incrementality mindset to reporting and investment decisions.
- Define and execute the SEO/AEO readiness checklist for new European market launches, ensuring storefronts go live search-ready rather than being retrofitted later.
- Own market-level organic reporting and build the quarterly narrative for European and global leadership.
**Requirements:**
- 5+ years in SEO, ideally in ecommerce, retail, or consumer brands, with meaningful ownership of organic performance.
- Demonstrable experience running SEO across more than one country or language.
- Strong working knowledge of technical SEO: crawl and indexation, site architecture, structured data, page performance.
- Content-led SEO experience: keyword and demand research, content strategy, briefing writers, and building category and editorial content that ranks and converts.
- Practical exposure to AEO—structured data, entity management, and a point of view on how brands should show up in AI-driven discovery.
- Comfortable working with data: Google Search Console, GA4, and standard SEO tools (Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, or similar).
- Excellent communicator in English and effective working asynchronously with a US-based headquarters team across time zones.
- Bias for shipping: comfortable operating without a large team, prioritizing what matters most, and executing the work yourself.
**Preferred:**
- Working proficiency in English plus a second language (German, French, or Spanish).
- Experience launching ecommerce storefronts in new countries.
- Familiarity with headless CMS and search stacks (Contentful, Algolia) and translation management platforms (Smartling).
- Experience using AI-assisted tooling to produce or optimize content, metadata, and structured data at scale.
- Apparel, home, or lifestyle retail experience in the European market.
