Lumilens is seeking an experienced Optical Transceiver Product Engineer to drive manufacturing readiness and product execution across the lifecycle of optical transceiver platforms, particularly 800G and 1.6T products. You will own new product introduction (NPI) and product transfer activities, working closely with contract manufacturers, suppliers, and internal cross-functional teams in design, process engineering, quality, and operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support NPI and product transfer, including qualification and ramp at contract manufacturing sites, ensuring processes, documentation, and yields are validated before mass production release
- End-to-end manufacturing ownership: manage all product, process, and material changes under change control and QMS requirements
- Own product yield, quality, and reliability as the lead contact for customer deliverables
- Ensure accuracy of manufacturing BOMs and drive product quality, operational productivity, cost, and total cost of manufacturing
- Analyze, define, develop, and execute continuous improvement plans targeting yield, cycle time, throughput, and scrap reduction
- Track manufacturing test results and ensure specification compliance
- Lead debug and failure analysis of yield excursions, test failures, and field/customer returns; drive root cause investigation and corrective/preventive actions
- Maintain product documentation and specifications
- Collaborate with quality team on qualification testing planning and execution
- Work with design and process engineering teams to ensure DFM guidelines are met
- Prepare product and process reports with data analysis and trend summaries
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field, plus 7+ years in high-volume optical transceiver manufacturing. Must have direct experience with 800G and 1.6T products, NPI and manufacturing transfers, and strong technical depth in manufacturing BOMs, yield analysis, and optical assembly processes (wire bond, die bond, active optical alignment, testing, burn-in). Expertise in reliability testing, quality control, statistical process control (SPC), failure analysis, and optics FA processes required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work in geographically diverse teams, and fluent English communication (verbal, written, presentation) essential. International travel required.
