Lumilens is building photonics infrastructure for AI supercomputing, developing chip-to-chip optical interconnects and scalable photonic engines. The company is Series B-funded and led by veterans from transformative technology companies.
As a Senior Process Engineer specializing in Active Alignment, you will lead the development and optimization of optical active alignment processes critical to transceiver manufacturing for next-generation AI infrastructure. Your responsibilities include designing and optimizing alignment processes for production, operating and maintaining active alignment equipment (FAU, lens, isolator, PIC chip systems), and developing alignment algorithms that drive manufacturing yield and quality.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and optimize optical active alignment processes for transceiver production
- Operate, set up, and maintain active alignment equipment including equipment control and qualification
- Develop, implement, and optimize alignment algorithms
- Perform equipment buyoff and qualification activities
- Oversee epoxy dispensing and curing processes
- Design and refine fixtures to improve alignment processes
- Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and engineering teams to ensure high yield and quality
- Troubleshoot equipment control, alignment processes, and fixture issues
- Contribute to process documentation and continuous improvement
You bring a minimum of 5 years of experience with optical active alignment for transceivers or related photonic devices. You have hands-on familiarity with active alignment equipment and processes (stages, controllers, power meters, MPO connectors, laser sources), experience with equipment buyoff and qualification, knowledge of epoxy dispensing and curing methods, and proficiency in fixture design and alignment algorithm development. A bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, optics, or related field is preferred.
