Impulse is seeking a Senior Tooling/Ground Support Engineer to design and develop tooling, fixturing, and support equipment for high-performance spacecraft. You will own the full lifecycle of tooling and ground support systems—from design through implementation—working with a fast-paced, agile team that builds spacecraft from clean sheet designs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and implement tooling and fixturing for metallic and composite structures
- Design, develop, and implement test equipment to support testing of metallic and composite flight structures
- Collaborate with designers, analysts, and other engineers to support spacecraft design development and prototype test stands
- Partner with manufacturing and supply chain teams to translate designs into production
- Solve complex technical challenges with emphasis on speed of execution and rapid iteration
You bring 5+ years of professional experience designing fixtures or tooling, with demonstrated expertise in CAD and manufacturing drawing preparation. You have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field. You excel at communicating technical challenges, explaining your rationale, and resolving concerns with cross-functional teams.
