Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Test Firmware Engineer to join the Electrical Test Engineering team in Costa Mesa. This role sits at the intersection of hardware and software validation, focusing on test infrastructure for next-generation autonomous vehicle radio products. You will own the complete test firmware layer—writing C on microcontrollers to expose internal hardware for automated testing and building Python/LabView frameworks on the host side to drive those tests. Your work directly enables validation of Anduril's radio products from prototype through production. Key responsibilities include: - Architecting and building unified test environments with target-side firmware and host-side execution frameworks - Developing C-based MCU test firmware exposing hardware peripherals via serial/bus APIs (UART, CAN, SPI, etc.) - Creating reusable abstraction layers for microcontroller peripherals and benchtop lab equipment - Debugging issues spanning electrical, firmware, and software boundaries - Engaging with manufacturing and electrical engineering teams on test coverage - Participating in schematic and test plan reviews - Maintaining automated test suites and analyzing results - Developing Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) stations for regression testing - Supporting board bring-up and bench validation - Providing technical mentorship to engineering teams Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering; 5+ years of Python architecture and development experience; embedded C for microcontrollers; HITL test systems experience; familiarity with SDLC and Agile; test management software (JIRA) and automated testing tools (Jenkins, CircleCI); Linux proficiency; advanced knowledge of hardware communication protocols (USB, I2C, SPI, CAN, Ethernet, etc.); and U.S. Person status for export control compliance. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree and RF test equipment experience. This is an ideal role for someone comfortable in hands-on lab environments, equally skilled in bare-metal C and Python automation, and passionate about building scalable test infrastructure.
