Okta is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to create and deliver developer-centered technical content for developer.okta.com. Reporting to the Manager of Technical Documentation, you will work closely with a global network of engineers, product managers, and developer success professionals to understand real-world use cases for identity and access management. You will design, develop, edit, and deliver accurate and effective developer documentation for Okta's identity and access management products. Your responsibilities include: - Creating practical technical content that guides Okta's technical community, including application developers and integration partners, to adopt, integrate, and deploy solutions successfully - Working closely with Engineering, Product Management, QA, Support, and the Information Development team to ensure quality and accuracy of content - Following documentation guidelines to produce high-quality developer documentation - Prioritizing projects when working with multiple engineering teams - Collaborating with developers to review API documentation - Analyzing customer feedback to enhance content depth, quality, and relevance You bring a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience writing documentation for Cloud or Enterprise products, with strong expertise in SDK, CLI, and developer tools documentation. You are proficient with Markdown, Visual Studio Code, Acrolinx, Git, GitHub, Jira, and Confluence. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, combined with a self-starter mentality in fast-paced environments, are essential. Extra credit qualifications include understanding security products in real-world applications, knowledge of Okta or similar identity and access management solutions, experience with DITA and OpenAPI, and familiarity with Agile environments. The role is hybrid, requiring 2 days onsite per week in Bengaluru, with in-person onboarding during the first week of employment.
