Valar Atomics is a Series A advanced nuclear energy company building scalable, factory-made nuclear systems for industrial heat, hydrogen production, and next-generation manufacturing. The company is constructing its first pilot plant in Orangeville, Utah. As Senior Technical Recruiter, you will lead full-lifecycle recruiting for engineering and technical teams across the organization. You'll partner directly with hiring managers and senior leadership to define talent strategies, source exceptional candidates in competitive specialized markets, and build a high-performing organization without compromising quality standards. Key responsibilities include: - Become the subject matter expert on engineering, manufacturing, and specialized technical roles, advising leadership on what top talent looks like in these fields - Develop and execute creative sourcing strategies for passive candidates in competitive talent markets, leveraging your expertise to close placements - Serve as trusted advisor to hiring managers and interview teams on role requirements, interview plans, and hiring criteria - Drive process improvements across the recruiting funnel, implement new tools, build equitable interview processes, and stay current on industry trends and competitive market data - Manage efficient, high-quality interview processes from initial outreach through offer close - Champion excellent candidate experience and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives Required qualifications: 5+ years technical recruiting (in-house or agency), proven track record hiring for engineering or highly technical roles, experience sourcing passive candidates in competitive markets, strong ability to assess candidate quality beyond resumes, excellent communication and stakeholder management, ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments, experience improving recruiting or operational processes, high ownership and attention to detail, and willingness to relocate to Orangeville, UT. Preferred: Bachelor's degree, recruiting experience in aerospace, defense, energy, robotics, or hardware companies, familiarity with mechanical/electrical/nuclear/manufacturing/systems engineering roles, high-growth or startup environment experience, Greenhouse ATS experience, and data-driven recruiting approach with pipeline tracking and reporting.
