Defense Unicorns is seeking a Senior Technical Recruiter to lead talent acquisition efforts for a mission-driven defense technology company. This is a fully remote role with 30-40% travel expectations for recruiting events, university career fairs, and conferences. You will own the end-to-end recruitment experience, from sourcing and candidate engagement through offer negotiation and onboarding feedback. Key responsibilities include: guiding hiring managers and interviewers through the recruitment process with consistent communication; preparing interview teams with best practices and supporting debriefs; maintaining accurate candidate data and hiring status in the ATS; developing and executing strategies to attract diverse talent pools; building early-career pipelines through relationships with universities, technical programs, and military transition organizations; representing Defense Unicorns at recruiting events and career fairs; and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. You will also collaborate with Marketing to promote job postings and employer brand on social media and job boards, help develop the company's Careers webpage, and continuously iterate on recruitment processes as the organization scales. The role demands strong communication skills, attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced startup environment while contributing to defining talent acquisition strategy. Preferred qualifications include experience recruiting for technical positions at tech companies, familiarity with Greenhouse, LinkedIn Recruiter, Slack, and Google Suite, and proven success in fully remote or distributed team environments. However, the company actively encourages applications from candidates who are enthusiastic but don't meet every criterion, particularly from underrepresented groups.
