Checkout.com is a global fintech platform powering over 10 billion transactions yearly for merchants like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, and Uber. As a Senior Technical Account Manager, you will be the technical heartbeat of our most strategic merchant relationships in the UAE region.
You will serve as a payment performance consultant and trusted advisor to enterprise merchants, combining deep technical expertise with strategic business acumen. Your responsibilities include becoming an expert on merchants' payment operations, diving into their transaction data to identify optimization opportunities, and driving initiatives that boost authorization rates and revenue.
On the technical side, you will be the primary technical authority for your assigned merchants, mastering their API integrations and infrastructure. You will lead incident response for critical issues, coordinating internal teams to ensure swift resolution and maintaining clear communication throughout. You will also project-manage key technical initiatives, from complex platform migrations to new product launches.
Merchant advocacy is central to the role. You will translate merchant needs and feedback into actionable insights that shape our product roadmap, while empowering clients through expert training, workshops, and technical demonstrations. During business reviews, you will translate technical performance metrics into compelling commercial narratives for C-level stakeholders.
The ideal candidate brings 4+ years in a senior, client-facing technical role (Technical Account Management, Solutions Consulting, or Sales Engineering) at a SaaS or API-first company. You must have hands-on expertise with RESTful APIs, strong communication skills across technical and executive audiences, and a proven ability to navigate high-pressure situations. A Computer Science or IT degree (or equivalent) is required.
Standout candidates will have deep knowledge of the payment lifecycle (authorization, settlement, SCA, tokenization, MIT/CIT), experience optimizing authorization rates, and familiarity with the MENA payments ecosystem including local methods like Mada, NPG, KNET, and Fawry. Arabic fluency is advantageous.
