Zscaler is seeking a Senior Specialist Sales Engineer for Data Security to serve enterprise customers across the Central US region (Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio). This is a remote role reporting directly to the Director of Specialist Sales Engineers, Data Security.
In this position, you will be the technical bridge between Zscaler's sales teams and enterprise prospects, translating complex customer security requirements into compelling, tailored solutions. You'll lead hands-on product evaluations, design custom configurations, and guide prospects through technical assessments to successful outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Creating and delivering technical product presentations to prospective enterprise customers
- Gathering and analyzing customer technical requirements to ensure solution alignment
- Leading product evaluations and designing custom product configurations
- Designing evaluation test plans with customers and guiding them to successful completion
- Partnering closely with sales teams to shape and win strategic opportunities
- Working in a matrix environment with the broader go-to-market and partner ecosystem
You should have a BSCS or equivalent degree with extensive pre-sales and systems integration experience. Minimum 5+ years in pre-sales, including 3+ years selling security/networking solutions in direct or high-touch enterprise environments. Strong background in data protection and web-related technologies is essential. Experience in commercial/high-velocity segments and matrix-based GTM collaboration is required.
Preferred qualifications include hands-on experience with Zscaler or competitive data protection solutions, understanding of SaaS technologies and regulatory compliance, and proven success in matrix environments with cross-functional teams.
