Remote is a global HR compliance platform that enables businesses of all sizes to recruit, pay, and manage international teams across 80+ countries. The company operates fully remotely with teams distributed across six continents.
As a Senior Specialist in Employee Relations, you will serve as a critical extension of Remote's clients' HR teams, managing complex employee lifecycle matters with a focus on legal compliance and exceptional customer service. This role combines two key areas: offboarding management and employee relations support.
Offboarding Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end employee exits across multiple international jurisdictions, ensuring superior offboarding experiences for clients and their employees
- Provide expert guidance on termination, resignation, transfer procedures, employment contracts, and redundancy processes while maintaining legal compliance
- Lead and facilitate meetings with clients and external employees, including workforce reduction consultations, administrative hearings, and separation negotiations
- Influence and negotiate positive outcomes in complex terminations, balancing multiple stakeholder interests
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders (payroll, legal counsel, government bodies, trade unions) to ensure compliance
- Draft, tailor, and administer termination documents with precision, maintaining strict adherence to privacy and confidentiality regulations
- Process offboarding in Remote's HRIS platform, collaborating across Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and other departments
- Serve as subject-matter expert on offboarding matters for internal and external stakeholders
Employee Relations Responsibilities:
- Provide first-level employee relations support, guiding clients through workplace concerns
- Conduct preliminary assessments of workplace concerns, identifying key facts and applicable local regulations
- Navigate clients through Remote's Employee Relations resources and policies
- Support clients in understanding progressive disciplinary approaches and documentation requirements
- Monitor ongoing employee relations cases, ensuring timely follow-up and stakeholder coordination
