Salary: GBP 119,000 - 160,000 / annual
Okta is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer for the Auth0 team based in London (UK&I region). This is a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days per week in the Farringdon office for customer meetings and team collaboration.
You will work closely with the sales team across the full customer lifecycle—from discovery through deal closure—to progress opportunities toward successful conclusion. Your responsibilities include:
• Conducting comprehensive discovery to understand customer and prospect requirements in the context of their business outcomes
• Managing technical sales progression from initial discovery to technical win
• Building sales presentations, product demonstrations, and educating diverse audiences (developers, product managers, C-level executives) on Auth0 and cloud security technology
• Taking a hands-on approach to solution validation: building custom demonstrations, supporting customer-led proofs of concept, and delivering technical validation
• Empathizing with customers to quickly discern true technical needs through detailed questioning and targeted solution presentation
• Maintaining broad and deep technical understanding of the Auth0 product line, underlying technologies, and protocols
• Proactively engaging in local and regional sales and marketing events
You combine technical savviness with business insight, able to articulate complex technical ideas clearly—ideally on the fly at a whiteboard—while also communicating business value to stakeholders at all levels.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Pre-sales experience as a Sales Engineer or Solutions Engineer
• Customer-facing background (consulting, support, teaching, or pre-sales)
• Proficiency with at least one standard identity protocol (OIDC, OAuth2, SAML, LDAP)
• Strong development background: proficiency in at least one backend stack (Java, C#, Node.js, Python, PHP, Ruby) and one popular frontend stack (React, Angular, Vue)
• Experience working with REST APIs and SDKs
• Understanding of core security concerns (password hashing, SSL/TLS, encryption at rest, XSS, XSRF)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate business value
• Ability to disperse knowledge to highly skilled audiences
• Natural relationship builder with strong listening and time management skills
• Willingness to travel and meet customers
BONUS EXPERIENCE:
• Identity & Access Management, Single Sign-On, and API-based solutions
• Understanding of Agentic AI and identity's role in continuous oversight
• Mobile development (iOS, Android)
• HTTP, HTML, REST services, browser dev tools, and HTTP clients (curl, Postman)
