Salary: USD 215,000 - 323,000 / annual
Okta is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer for the West Coast (Los Angeles and San Francisco offices) to support enterprise customers in adopting Okta's Identity Platform. This is a hybrid role requiring in-person onboarding and periodic travel (10-25% annually).
In this role, you will partner with account executives to develop territory and account strategies, conduct discovery to understand complex customer requirements, and execute proofs-of-concept for Fortune 500 organizations. You'll deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to diverse audiences—from developers to C-level executives—translating business needs into Okta solutions. You'll also craft technical content, manage customer feedback loops to Product and Engineering teams, and serve as a trusted advisor on identity and access management best practices.
Required qualifications include 5+ years of pre-sales engineering experience, deep expertise in Identity & Access Management (IAM) technologies (SSO, MFA, SAML, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, LDAP, SCIM), and strong understanding of Zero Trust Architecture and application security. You should have hands-on development experience in web, mobile, or backend technologies, familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to multiple personas (IT admins, CISOs, architects, procurement, legal). A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field is preferred. You must be an elite communicator, confident presenting to highly skilled audiences, and capable of identifying and managing multiple stakeholder personas throughout the sales cycle.
