Coder is hiring a Senior Solutions Engineer to join the Sales Engineering team, based in the UK. You will partner with Account Executives to qualify, progress, and close revenue opportunities with Fortune 500 prospects, guiding them through technical demos, architecture discussions, and proofs-of-concept that demonstrate Coder's value for both human developers and AI coding agents.
This role balances deep technical execution with business acumen. You will own the technical relationship with prospects through pre-sales, running demos from developer, administrator, and AI agent workflow perspectives. You'll install Coder on cloud and on-premises Kubernetes or VM infrastructure, run proofs-of-concept that prove value in agentic and LLM-powered development workflows, and accelerate deals by translating technical wins into business cases for economic buyers.
Key responsibilities include managing the technical relationship efficiently toward a win, evolving into a subject-matter expert on Cloud Development Environments and agentic AI development, serving as the prospect's voice to Engineering and Product, troubleshooting deployments and Kubernetes components, and contributing to documentation.
You bring a minimum of 5 years as a Solutions Engineer selling infrastructure or developer tooling, with strong customer-facing skills and the ability to translate technical hurdles into business value in real time. You have deep Linux fundamentals, 3+ years hands-on with Docker and Kubernetes, experience with AWS/GCP/Azure, 3+ years with Terraform or infrastructure-as-code, solid networking knowledge (ingress controllers, proxies, load balancers), and experience with AI tooling at both user and infrastructure levels (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, LiteLLM, model proxies). You thrive in startup-speed environments with an ownership mindset and player-coach attitude.
Bonus experience includes success at both high-growth startups and larger software vendors, direct experience deploying AI coding agents in customer environments, CI/CD/DevOps/developer-platform backgrounds, and relevant certifications.
