Aiven is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to drive customer success across North America, with a preference for West Coast location. This is a full-time, permanent hybrid role combining pre-sales and post-sales technical leadership.
You will be the technical bridge between Aiven's managed open-source data platform and enterprise customers. Your responsibilities include conducting proof-of-concept implementations, translating complex technical architectures into business value, and building long-term customer relationships from initial engagement through production deployment and beyond.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead proof-of-concept engagements and solve customer technical challenges
- Contribute to the sales process as a technical expert, advising on architecture fit
- Support existing customers through enablement, stability, and growth initiatives
- Serve as a technical ambassador through blogs, webinars, conferences, and community engagement
- Travel up to 20% for customer meetings and events
Required experience:
- 5+ years in technology sales, pre-sales, or consulting roles
- Deep hands-on expertise in one or more: Apache Kafka, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, MySQL, OpenSearch, or Redis
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Python, Go, Ruby)
- Strong Linux system administration skills and networking fundamentals
- Demonstrated experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure (compute, storage, networking, security)
- Expertise in search ecosystems (OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, Lucene)
- Hands-on experience with streaming frameworks (Kafka, Flink, Spark Streaming, Kinesis)
- Familiarity with distributed storage, NoSQL databases, and data lakes
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders
- Strong relationship-building and project management capabilities
