GitLab is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to serve as a trusted technical advisor and AI subject matter expert within the Solutions Architecture Center of Excellence. You will partner with prospects and customers to unlock the full value of GitLab's AI-powered DevSecOps platform, solving complex challenges across the software lifecycle by connecting AI agents, security, and cloud-native capabilities to real business outcomes.
In this role, you'll report to the Senior Director and own technical strategy for strategic accounts. You'll lead value stream and proof-of-value (PoV) engagements, acting as the technical "CTO" for assigned accounts. Your responsibilities include conducting technical discovery and architecture design, leading end-to-end platform evaluations, and driving AI-focused solution strategy as the team's AI subject matter expert. You'll provide advanced technical guidance during pre-sales cycles, including tender support, workshop design, and solving complex integration challenges.
You'll collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to shape account strategies and ensure successful platform adoption. A key part of your impact will be translating real-world customer feedback into product requirements and roadmap input, particularly for AI, security, and platform capabilities. You'll create reusable technical assets such as reference architectures, best practice guides, and enablement content to scale impact globally.
Beyond individual account work, you'll mentor other Solutions Architects, contribute to Center of Excellence initiatives, and establish yourself as an external industry authority through thought leadership and ecosystem relationships.
You bring deep hands-on expertise with AI—designing or implementing AI-powered solutions, advising on AI adoption, or serving as an AI SME. You have experience in technical pre-sales, software consulting, or similar roles connecting complex technology to business outcomes. Your background includes modern software development or operations (CI/CD, DevSecOps), cloud computing concepts, and the ability to design technical architectures spanning multiple teams and phases of the software lifecycle. You excel at leading technical evaluations and workshops with diverse stakeholders and have strong communication and relationship-building skills.
