Salary: USD 166,000 - 220,000 / annual
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Senior Product Manager to join the Strategic Defense team in Seattle, WA (or Washington, DC). This role focuses on shaping and delivering features and services for the next generation of autonomous air and missile defense systems powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system.
You will own the product roadmap for key autonomy capabilities, translating high-level strategic objectives and urgent warfighter needs into detailed, actionable product specifications. You'll define autonomy behavior and human-machine interfaces—including decision authority, operator overrides, engagement constraints, and safety guardrails governing automated decision-making.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the autonomy capability area end-to-end, from initial release through day-to-day improvements
- Supporting software execution by sequencing workstreams, surfacing and resolving cross-team dependencies, tracking delivery against plan, and holding stakeholders accountable
- Proactively communicating roadmaps, execution status, and goals to stakeholders; escalating trade-offs and decision points as needed
- Working with business development, proposal, marketing, and compliance to communicate product capabilities externally and participate in customer exercises and demonstrations
- Validating and experimenting with new capabilities, acting as the voice of the user throughout the product lifecycle
- Defining and monitoring key metrics for autonomy performance, safety, and controls behavior in operationally relevant conditions
- Interviewing defense operators and subject matter experts to develop insights and propagate user needs through the organization
- Building relationships across business and technical teams—working hands-on with engineers and designers, then coordinating with business development, operations, customer success, marketing, and finance
- Partnering with test engineers to devise rigorous testing scenarios that validate functionality and drive rapid iteration
You will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, own execution end-to-end without a dedicated program manager, and contribute to national security through cutting-edge autonomy and AI/ML technologies.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Currently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance (Top Secret clearance preferred)
- 3–5 years in software product management, ideally in highly technical areas such as autonomous systems, AI/ML products, or developer solutions
- Working fluency in autonomy and controls concepts (state estimation, planning, closed-loop control) sufficient to reason about system behavior and limits with engineers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Foundational understanding of back-end web technologies and distributed systems
- Demonstrated aptitude for prototyping solutions, including through AI code generation
- Proven ability to decompose and organize technically complex projects in a structured approach
- Demonstrated ability to drive software execution directly (planning, dependency management, schedule accountability)
- Aptitude for working with internal and external stakeholders across a wide range of technical comfort levels
- Ability to travel for discovery and testing purposes (surges up to 50%)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Active U.S. Secret security clearance
- Hands-on experience shipping autonomous systems, robotics, guidance/navigation/control, or mission autonomy software
- Familiarity with mathematical optimization problems (assignment, resource allocation, scheduling, trajectory optimization) and tradeoffs between optimality, runtime, and operator trust
- Experience with AI safety, assurance, or verification and validation for learning-enabled or automated decision-making systems
- Background in operations research, optimization, or applied mathematics through experience or education
- Defense, national security, or aerospace domain familiarity
- Experience in developer-focused product teams (cloud services, SDK development, internal platform infrastructure)
- Experience supporting test design and execution for technically complex, combined hardware/software systems
