As a Senior Software Engineer on the Truework team, you will be an independent contributor responsible for developing and maintaining the backend platform serving major mortgage lenders. You'll take ownership across the full product development lifecycle—from collaborating with product managers and customers to define features, through implementation, to working with sales and marketing on launches.
Key responsibilities include:
- Solve complex problems and deliver high-quality solutions with high agency and minimal oversight
- Bring a customer-centric, product-oriented mindset to feature design and implementation
- Partner with engineering, product, and design teams on architecture and feature design
- Adopt an experimentation mindset to validate customer needs and ship rapid MVPs
- Instrument and deploy product experiments with a data-driven approach
- Deliver performant, reliable, scalable, and secure code at scale
- Monitor, investigate, and resolve production issues for owned services
You bring 5+ years of software development experience, proficiency in Python and JavaScript (or similar), experience developing RESTful APIs, strong communication and documentation skills, and a demonstrated sense of ownership from design through production. A bachelor's degree or equivalent is required. Most work is backend-oriented, but the team is open to full-stack, QA, and SRE backgrounds if you meet core requirements.
