RevenueCat is the default monetization platform for mobile apps, processing $16B+ in annual purchase volume and embedded in 50%+ of newly shipped subscription apps. The company is a remote-first team of 150+ people across 25+ countries, backed by Y Combinator (S18 batch) and top-tier investors. You'll join as a Senior Software Engineer on the Product team, taking ownership of end-to-end product features used by thousands of developers and hundreds of millions of end-users. This is a hands-on individual contributor role requiring both strong backend fundamentals and genuine React proficiency. You'll design, build, ship, and own features across frontend, backend, and data layers, making thoughtful tradeoffs to deliver reliable, high-quality systems. Key responsibilities include: scoping and prioritizing work in partnership with the Product team (not just implementing specs), owning features from problem definition through production rollout and long-term maintenance, writing high-quality well-tested code, debugging issues methodically, and mentoring other engineers. You'll engage directly with customers to understand how your work lands and proactively contribute to architecture discussions impacting the broader system. Required qualifications: 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong backend foundation and track record building high-scale production systems. Advanced SQL proficiency beyond basic SELECT/UPDATE. Genuine React and frontend proficiency (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, HTTP). High bar for quality with good judgment about which details matter and when to cut scope. Customer-obsessed mindset and bias toward shipping without sacrificing correctness or reliability. Strong async and real-time communication skills. You'll work with TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, Python, Flask, and AWS-hosted systems. The interview process includes two live-coding sessions: one on frontend fundamentals and one on SQL/data logic/algorithms. In the first month: onboarding, learning tools and subscription concepts, completing a First Ship project. By 3 months: shipped a medium-sized project, understand team's product areas end-to-end, scope work self-sufficiently. By 6 months: go-to engineer for focus areas, contribute to architecture discussions, mentor others. By 12 months: know major system components, spec and architect large projects, lead initiatives grounded in customer and business priorities. Compensation includes competitive equity in a Series C startup with a 10-year exercise window, fully remote and flexible work environment, and 4-5 weeks of suggested annual time off.
