Cloudflare is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build an AI-driven operating layer for its People team, which supports 5,000+ employees globally. You will design and ship production systems for hiring, onboarding, and self-service employee tools, leveraging Cloudflare's Developer Platform to automate workflows while maintaining rigorous guardrails for sensitive employee data.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building AI-assisted intake systems for request classification, retrieval-augmented responses, and intelligent case routing
- Automating recruiting workflows including Greenhouse job creation and management chain synchronization
- Creating self-service tools for policy guidance, approvals, and employee lifecycle changes
- Designing durable multi-step workflows for onboarding, offboarding, and recurring audits
- Developing AI copilots that summarize context and suggest next actions for human review
- Implementing data reconciliation systems and exception queues for cross-system accuracy
- Building observable audit pipelines for explainable decision-making
- Creating custom interview automation and internal technical assessment tooling
- Integrating People systems via secure APIs, OAuth, and webhook patterns
- Collaborating with HR, IT, Legal, and Security teams to translate operational challenges into technical solutions
- Implementing robust authorization, audit logging, and error handling for high-trust data
You will leverage Cloudflare's full stack including Workers, Workflows, Access, Hyperdrive (Postgres), R2, and Workers AI / AI Gateway to build durable, secure, and observable automation.
Desired qualifications include strong engineering background in TypeScript, Python, or Go; practical experience with LLMs, RAG, tool calling, and prompt evaluation; expertise in system-to-system integrations, identity, and event-driven workflows; and exceptional judgment regarding privacy, data minimization, and operational risk. Bonus experience includes internal platform engineering, compliance-heavy environments, and proficiency with React, Drizzle, Zod, and Postgres.
