Plaid is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack to design and build scalable systems that power how millions of people connect to their finances. You will work across the entire stack—designing and developing backend services and APIs using relational databases like MySQL, while also crafting intuitive frontend experiences using modern frameworks. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy switching between backend problem-solving and frontend user experience work.
Key responsibilities include building and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs; collaborating cross-functionally with product managers and designers to define requirements and deliver features; writing clean, maintainable, well-tested code; building automated tests and monitoring system performance in production; engaging in hands-on coding and architectural decisions to ensure reliability, security, and scalability; and supporting team growth through mentorship and thoughtful code reviews.
You will take ownership early in projects, contribute to architectural decisions, and see your work reach millions of users. The role requires strong system design skills, solid coding practices across both frontend and backend, and proven ability to collaborate effectively across product, design, and engineering teams.
