You'll join the Core Experiences Team, which builds and maintains the foundational services and SDKs powering Speechify's product across platforms. This is a critical role at the intersection of product and infrastructure, requiring strategic thinking and a passion for designing clear, reliable APIs and simple systems that enhance user experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with product teams to scope projects, navigate integration/UX tradeoffs, and deliver solutions via cross-platform SDK
- Optimizing existing functionality to improve performance (faster loading, intelligent parsing) through better abstractions and algorithms
- Shipping cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin
Ideal candidates demonstrate systems thinking (understanding end-to-end design and valuing simplicity), speed (quickly generating ideas and knowing what can ship now), focus (managing priorities in a high-growth remote environment), and strong collaboration skills with designers, marketers, and product managers.
The preferred tech stack includes Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience acceptable but role is Kotlin-focused) and GCP experience is a plus.
