Okta is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own the infrastructure, frontend, and publishing processes for its technical documentation platforms (help.okta.com and developer.okta.com). You will build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, documentation site infrastructure, and frontend improvements while supporting internal customers including technical writers and Builder Experience teams across multiple regions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, build, and improve documentation site infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and release processes
- Support internal teams (technical writers, Builder Experience) with structured authoring platforms and automation to unblock their workflows
- Provide cross-regional support to various Builder Experience teams
- Collaborate with DocTool Leads to enhance user experience, content structure, and versioning for multiple products and global audiences
- Implement frontend changes to improve functionality and appearance of documentation sites
Required qualifications:
- 4+ years of software development experience
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and Python
- Experience with OpenAPI and JAMstack architecture
- Hands-on knowledge of documentation frameworks (DITA, Redocly, VuePress, or similar)
- CI/CD tools experience (GitHub, CircleCI, Vercel, Artifactory)
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI tools for coding and workflow automation
- Strong verbal communication and collaboration skills
- Agile environment experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
Desired experience includes working with technical writers, knowledge of documentation processes, and localization experience.
Work mode is hybrid with a minimum of 2 days onsite per week in Bengaluru.
