Otter is a software platform that helps restaurateurs succeed in online food delivery. The company serves major brands including Chick-fil-A, Ben & Jerry's, KFC, and Eataly, enabling them to increase sales, reduce order issues, and streamline delivery operations.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will build full-stack solutions on world-class technologies serving millions of restaurateurs globally. You'll tackle complex problems in distributed systems, workflows, compilers, big data, query optimization, storage, and networking.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with Product Managers, Designers, and Frontend Engineers to conceptualize and build new features
- Producing high-quality code on large cross-functional projects that drive business impact
- Owning features or systems end-to-end, ensuring long-term health and scalability
- Assisting operations and business teams in triaging and resolving production issues
- Reviewing code and working across engineering teams
- Improving engineering standards, tooling, and processes
You'll work with technologies including .NET Framework, C#, Java, Python, Go, C++, and TypeScript. The company especially welcomes engineers with Windows-based systems experience (POS clients, payment modules, VAN integrations).
Required: 5+ years of software engineering experience with complex systems using Java, Python, Go, C++, or TypeScript; strong communication skills; solid computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, threading, distributed systems); fluent English; Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent.
Preferred: 3+ years developing Windows applications with .NET Framework and C#; POS/VAN/payment integration experience; full software development lifecycle familiarity; distributed systems and architecture experience; AI/LLM development background; startup environment experience.
The role is based in Seoul with five-day-per-week onsite collaboration required. The online food delivery market is experiencing explosive growth—expanding 10X in the US over five years and projected to reach $500B–$1T by 2030.
