Telnyx is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the AI Enablement team, building services that enable AI agents to interact with the real world. You will design, develop, and operate production services that provide agents with secure, reliable capabilities for meeting participation, web search, browser automation, email, payments, and related functions.
In this role, you'll develop reusable primitives and define reliable interfaces and workflows for agent tool use. You'll work closely with product and engineering teams to translate new agent use cases into practical, maintainable services. Key responsibilities include designing and operating production systems, improving safety and observability across the platform, and helping shape the architecture of the agent enablement platform.
You should have strong software engineering experience with ownership of production systems, comfort working with LLMs, AI agents, tool calling, and agent orchestration. The ideal candidate demonstrates good judgment around reliability, security, permissions, and external side effects, with an ability to work through ambiguous problems and turn early ideas into maintainable products. Clear communication and a practical, hands-on engineering approach are essential.
