Traba is building an AI operating system for the industrial supply chain, automating workflows across warehouses, manufacturers, logistics providers, and industrial businesses. The company started as a staffing platform and has evolved into an AI-driven platform delivering autonomous agents and decision intelligence to supply chain operators.
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Agents team, you will own the design, development, and deployment of production AI agents that operate autonomously within customer supply chain workflows. This is a founding-team role reporting to the CTO, focused on building the agent infrastructure layer that powers Traba's product.
Key responsibilities include:
- Embedding with customers to understand supply chain operations and translate those insights into agent capabilities
- Designing and shipping production agent systems on frontier LLMs, including tool use, sub-agents, retrieval, structured outputs, MCP servers, and orchestration patterns
- Owning evaluation as a first-class discipline: building datasets from production traces, designing rubrics and graders, running experiments, and proving impact
- Architecting the data services, APIs, and integrations that connect agents to customer WMS, TMS, and ERP systems
- Codifying repeatable deployment patterns to accelerate customer rollouts
You will move fluidly between prompt engineering, evaluation design, backend services, and customer-facing interfaces. You think in terms of capability, reliability, and unit economics—not just model outputs. You have shipped real LLM and agent-based features into production, understand the modern agent stack deeply, and thrive in fast, ambiguous environments where you scope, build, evaluate, and ship without waiting for specs.
Required: 5+ years software engineering (1+ shipping LLM/agent features), strong Python and/or TypeScript, experience with APIs, distributed systems, PostgreSQL, production prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, and orchestration patterns. Track record in vertical AI, AI-agent, forward-deployed, or data-product companies preferred. Excellent communication skills required.
