Amplitude is a leading AI-powered analytics platform serving over 4,700 customers including Atlassian, Burger King, NBCUniversal, and Square. As a Senior Sales Engineer, you'll be the technical quarterback for strategic opportunities across the LATAM region, partnering with Account Executives to close complex, multi-stakeholder deals by translating product capabilities into measurable business outcomes.
You'll spend 70% of your time on deal execution: leading technical evaluations for deals ranging from $100K to $1M+ ARR, conducting deep discovery into prospect workflows and tech stacks, designing and executing hands-on proof-of-concepts using the prospect's actual data, handling technical objections around data architecture and compliance, and presenting to C-level executives with ROI narratives.
The remaining 30% involves internal collaboration (20%) and thought leadership (10%). You'll partner with Product Management to communicate feature gaps affecting deal velocity, work with Customer Success on smooth handoffs, mentor junior SEs on technical positioning, contribute to competitive intelligence on tools like Google Analytics 4 and Adobe Analytics, and develop reusable demo assets and proof-of-concept frameworks.
You'll need 5+ years in software pre-sales (Sales Engineering, Sales Consulting, or technical Account Management). Tri-lingual fluency in English, Spanish, and Portuguese is preferred; English and Spanish are required. You must be comfortable with nuanced technical concepts and be a self-learner in areas like Python, SQL, hyperscaler integrations, and APIs. Hands-on SQL experience is essential—you should be able to write joins, aggregations, and window functions to analyze behavioral data. You'll have a track record of closing technical evaluations in competitive enterprise deals and comfort presenting to both engineers and business stakeholders.
Strongly preferred: 2+ years with product analytics, experimentation platforms, or customer data platforms; experience with event-based data models and tracking implementations; familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI); previous SaaS experience selling to Product, Growth, or Marketing teams; understanding of regional data privacy implications.
Success metrics: First 90 days—ramp on Amplitude's platform, complete 3+ customer-facing demos, contribute to 2 proof-of-concepts. First year—influence closed-won ARR, maintain 70%+ technical win rate, develop 2 reusable assets for the team.
