Salary: USD 186,200 - 232,750 / annual
Cohesity is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to support enterprise sales engagements and drive adoption of its AI-powered data security and management platform. This role combines technical expertise with sales acumen, partnering closely with Account Executives to identify and execute new customer opportunities and account expansions.
You will be the trusted technical advisor throughout the sales cycle, from discovery and solution design through demos, proofs of concept, and competitive positioning. Key responsibilities include articulating Cohesity's Data Cloud portfolio (backup, recovery, cyber resilience, data security management) to both business and technical stakeholders; providing expert technical support during evaluations and implementations; leading technical engagements such as workshops, white papers, and product demonstrations; and identifying customer requirements to shape effective proofs of concept.
You'll collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management, Engineering, and Support to relay customer feedback and contribute to product improvements. The role emphasizes growing ownership of account-level technical strategy with guidance from senior leadership, supporting complex multi-stakeholder sales cycles, and ensuring successful customer outcomes.
Ideal candidates bring proven pre-sales or solutions consulting experience in infrastructure, data protection, security, or cloud platforms within enterprise environments. You should have hands-on experience with backup, recovery, data protection, storage, or cyber resilience technologies across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud architectures. Strong knowledge of data security concepts (ransomware resilience, immutable storage, encryption, access controls) and familiarity with competitive technologies are essential. You'll need excellent communication skills to translate technical architecture into clear business value, a collaborative mindset to manage complex customer situations, and demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience is required. Industry certifications in cloud, data, or adjacent technologies are a plus. Travel as required.
