VAST Data is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to join its rapidly expanding team in Bangalore. As a data platform company at the forefront of the AI infrastructure revolution, VAST is building enterprise software to capture, catalog, refine, and protect massive datasets for real-time analysis and AI training.
In this role, you will be a technical leader and trusted advisor to enterprise customers, combining deep product expertise with consultative selling. You will assist customers through evaluations, benchmarks, system configurations, and installations, serving as the bridge between customer needs and VAST's R&D engineering team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead customer technical evaluations and system implementations, demonstrating mastery of distributed storage architectures, file systems, and competitive storage solutions (DAS, NAS, SAN)
- Develop and document architecture blueprints for repeatable, scalable solutions that the broader sales team can deploy
- Collaborate with R&D to define product requirements, usability improvements, and technical specifications based on customer feedback
- Contribute to sales strategy and tactics, owning technical aspects of key customer accounts
- Mentor and develop a dispersed team of systems and field engineers
- Participate in recruiting, hiring, and team development for the Sales Engineering organization
- Advise on building and managing support infrastructure as the organization scales
