The platform combines AI-powered accounting automation, payments, and premium financing in a single vertically integrated solution. With over 4,000 customers including more than half of the 50 largest insurance brokers in the country, Ascend is transforming how the $10T insurance industry manages financial operations. As a Senior Sales Development Representative, you will be a driving force behind Ascend's growth and at the forefront of go-to-market efforts. You'll help shape the sales development strategy as the company expands into new products and customer segments, and play a critical role in executing and scaling the next phase of growth. Key responsibilities include: - Executing outbound prospecting campaigns with a focus on cold calling and creative outreach - Building and maintaining a strong pipeline of qualified leads for the sales team - Researching and identifying target accounts and decision-makers within insurance brokers, MGAs, and agencies - Collaborating with the sales and marketing teams to refine messaging and targeting strategies - Defining best practices and upleveling the SDR function as the team scales - Demonstrating continuous improvement mindset and driving metrics-based performance - Contributing to the development of sales development processes and playbooks You'll be an early member of the SDR team, instrumental in defining what "good" looks like and establishing the foundation for a high-performing sales development organization. The role is based in-person at Ascend's San Francisco office. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of effective cold calling, strong drive for continuous improvement, and creative approach to outreach. You should be comfortable in a fast-paced, early-stage environment and excited about the opportunity to shape the future of financial operations in insurance.
