BigHat Biosciences is seeking a Senior Research Associate with strong expertise in immunology, cell culture, flow cytometry, and primary cell-based assays to support the functional characterization of lead therapeutic candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the functional characterization of therapeutic candidates, driving their development from bench to clinic
- Plan, execute, and analyze a range of immunological assays including T cell-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (TDCC), T cell activation assays, cytokine release assays, FACS, ELISA, and antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC)
- Isolate and culture primary immune cells from blood and tissue samples
- Interpret experimental results independently and make evidence-based recommendations for program advancement and conceptualization
- Maintain detailed, organized records of experimental protocols and results
- Present scientific findings clearly to cross-functional teams
- Collaborate with a diverse research team to progress scientific objectives in a fast-paced biotech environment
Required Qualifications:
- B.Sc. in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, immunology, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of relevant research experience, including at least 1 year in industry
- Hands-on proficiency in mammalian cell culture and multicolor flow cytometry
- Strong scientific curiosity and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a dynamic startup environment
- Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset
Preferred:
- Experience with automation and high-throughput assay platforms
