Pharmacy1st Health is building clinical infrastructure for rural America by transforming independent pharmacies into integrated care delivery hubs. The company combines primary care, pharmacy services, and chronic disease management under one roof, creating lower-cost sites of care for underserved communities across multiple states.
You will lead full-cycle recruitment for Pharmacists, Pharmacists-in-Charge (PICs), Pharmacy Technicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Medical Assistants across a growing network of rural pharmacies and clinics. This is not traditional healthcare recruiting—rural markets present unique challenges: limited candidate pools, geographic constraints, and the need for creative sourcing strategies beyond standard job postings.
Key responsibilities include:
**Full-Cycle Recruitment**: Manage end-to-end hiring across multiple states and locations, balancing immediate operational needs with long-term workforce planning. Conduct outreach, screening, interview coordination, reference checks, offer management, and preboarding. Support permanent, part-time, PRN, and temporary staffing needs.
**Strategic Sourcing & Pipeline Development**: Design proactive sourcing strategies for difficult-to-fill positions in rural markets. Identify candidates through direct outreach, professional networks, referrals, and educational institutions. Build relationships with pharmacy schools, nursing programs, and community colleges. Research local labor markets and establish relationships with passive candidates for future opportunities.
**Hiring Manager Partnership**: Serve as a strategic recruitment partner to Pharmacy Operations and Clinical Operations leadership. Conduct recruitment intake meetings, provide market intelligence on candidate availability and compensation, identify staffing risks, and support expansion into new markets.
**Recruitment Operations**: Maintain accurate candidate information in Ashby ATS. Develop recruitment dashboards and track metrics including time-to-fill, sourcing effectiveness, and offer acceptance rates. Identify bottlenecks and recommend process improvements. Ensure compliance with employment laws and pre-employment requirements.
Success in this role requires understanding that rural healthcare recruitment demands a fundamentally different approach. You must be comfortable building talent pipelines where they don't exist, engaging passive candidates, understanding rural labor market dynamics, and developing alternative staffing solutions. An unfilled position affects patient access to care and community services—you see these as problems to solve.
**Requirements**
Minimum 5 years of full-cycle recruitment experience with substantial healthcare recruitment background. Demonstrated success recruiting pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, nurse practitioners, or medical assistants. Proven ability sourcing candidates for difficult-to-fill or geographically challenging positions. Strong experience with proactive sourcing and engaging passive candidates. Experience managing recruitment across multiple locations or states. Understanding of healthcare recruitment challenges including licensing requirements and competitive labor markets. Proficiency with applicant tracking systems, LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, and similar platforms. Excellent communication, relationship-building, negotiation, and organizational skills. Ability to independently manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, growing organization.
Preferred: Direct experience recruiting healthcare professionals in rural or underserved communities; background in retail pharmacy, community pharmacy, outpatient clinics, or multi-site healthcare organizations; established professional networks within pharmacy or clinical workforce; experience with pharmacy schools and healthcare training institutions; experience supporting healthcare acquisitions or rapid expansion; familiarity with Ashby ATS.
