AirHelp is a global travel protection tech company that has helped millions of travelers claim compensation for disrupted flights. The company is expanding its product portfolio and seeking a Senior QA Engineer to own quality strategy and automation for the Claiming Experience domain, specifically around Documents and Communication flows.
This role goes beyond traditional manual QA. You will design and build reliable automated test suites using Playwright, Postman/Bruno, and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions). You'll collaborate closely with a 6-person developer team (Typescript/Ruby stack) to shorten feedback loops, improve observability, and enable developers to take greater ownership of quality through shared testing patterns and best practices.
Key responsibilities include: owning test automation strategy for critical claiming flows; designing and maintaining automated tests; improving quality observability using tools like Sentry, Grafana, and Kibana; leveraging AI-assisted testing and AI agents to improve test generation and debugging; and helping shape a pragmatic quality culture where testing is a shared engineering responsibility.
In your first 12 months, you'll strengthen automated coverage for critical document and communication flows, shorten regression verification time, build testing strategies for AI-assisted workflows, reduce manual verification dependency, and improve investigation speed for test failures using modern observability tools and AI-assisted analysis.
You bring strong hands-on QA automation experience (Playwright, API testing with Postman/Bruno, CI/CD integration), practical experience with AI tooling for testing workflows, and the ability to influence senior engineers without formal authority. You balance automation, exploratory testing, risk analysis, and delivery speed while maintaining clear communication and strong ownership.
