Tanium is seeking a Senior QA & Automation Engineer to join its Krakow office on a hybrid basis (3 days/week in-office). You will be responsible for testing products built on the Tanium platform, working closely with developers and product managers to construct and execute comprehensive test plans, build robust automation frameworks, and file detailed bug reports that maintain quality across every release. Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining automated test suites across UI, API, and integration layers using Python/pytest, Playwright, and REST API testing tools. You will champion a shift-left, automation-first approach by embedding in engineering squads, writing in-sprint automation, and ensuring test coverage keeps pace with feature development. You'll build and maintain automated regression pipelines in CI/CD environments (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI), monitor pipeline health, resolve flaky tests, and provide reliable signal to engineering teams. Additionally, you will author and execute test plans covering functional, regression, integration, performance, and basic security testing scenarios. You'll identify, document, and track defects using established procedures, providing clear, reproducible bug reports and validating fixes with engineering teams. The role involves managing resources, project plans, estimates, and timelines, as well as sharing knowledge and best practices within the Krakow QA team to foster continuous quality improvement. Required qualifications include 5+ years of QA/testing experience with strong focus on test automation in B2B software or SaaS environments. You must be proficient in Python/pytest, experienced with Playwright or Selenium for UI testing, and have solid experience with REST API testing and CI/CD pipeline integration. Strong understanding of OOP/SOLID/DRY concepts, testing best practices (test automation pyramid, Page Object Model), Agile/Scrum development, and defect management tools (Jira, TestRail) is essential. Familiarity with non-functional testing (load, stress, performance) and basic security testing concepts (OWASP) is required; ISTQB CTFL certification is preferred. Nice-to-have skills include solid understanding of operating systems (Linux & Windows), practical experience with virtualization/containerization (VMware, Proxmox), proficiency with scripting languages (Shell, Bash, PowerShell), experience with packet capture tools (Wireshark, tcpdump), and familiarity with authentication, file signatures, and certificates. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience is required. Strong written and verbal English communication skills are essential for collaborating with global engineering teams.
