Forerunner is a mission-driven software company building intelligent solutions for government agencies and regulated industries. The company connects fragmented systems, fills critical gaps, and transforms data into actionable decisions that reduce liability and prevent emergencies.
You'll be Forerunner's first dedicated Product Marketing Manager, responsible for building and scaling the product marketing function from the ground up. This is a high-impact role that spans positioning, messaging, launches, and sales enablement across multiple verticals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and owning positioning, messaging, and buyer personas across all verticals, ensuring consistent storytelling across the organization. You'll have upstream influence in product planning, regular exposure to sales and customer calls, and ownership of the positioning framework that guides the entire company.
- Driving go-to-market strategy for new products and features. You'll determine which releases warrant full launch campaigns, craft the narrative for each, define success metrics, and coordinate across Product, Sales, and Customer Success to ensure launches land effectively.
- Building the sales enablement program. You'll identify deal stalls, develop objection-handling frameworks, create key narratives and use case examples, and train the sales team as new features and verticals launch.
- Serving as the voice of the market. You'll spend time with customers, prospects, and field teams to gather insights that inform both product direction and go-to-market strategy.
Success in year one means clear, consistent positioning adopted across all teams; faster deal closure driven by sharper messaging and enablement; successful launches with market and field readiness; increased customer adoption of new capabilities; and clear insights into win/loss dynamics.
You bring 7+ years of B2B product marketing experience, including building or scaling a PMM function. Govtech or public sector SaaS experience is preferred. You combine strong strategic thinking with hands-on execution—you develop clear positioning perspectives and energetically bring them to life. You're a translator who turns technical products into value stories for diverse audiences (from county officials to construction EHS directors). You've built enablement programs that sales teams actually use. You think full-funnel, from acquisition through expansion, and have run lifecycle and in-app campaigns. You're naturally curious about markets and customers. You work fluently with AI tools and have informed perspectives on their applications. You thrive in ambiguity, setting direction with limited precedent and taking on responsibility beyond your job description.
