Anduril Industries is a defense technology company building advanced military systems powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system for command and control. The Maritime Digital Production (MDP) team builds the software-defined shipyard—the full technology stack running Anduril's shipbuilding factories, including data infrastructure, ArsenalOS (manufacturing execution system), scheduling engines, and AI systems that eliminate manual work from the shop floor and business operations. This role is anchored by Arsenal-2, a software-defined shipyard being built in Baltimore County, Maryland as part of a $6.6 billion investment in America's submarine industrial base. Development is underway in Orange County, California, proving out manufacturing methods and digital workflows that will scale across the shipyard network. MDP operates at the boundary between Operational Technology and Information Technology, where factory-floor machines, edge compute, and OT networks meet enterprise platforms and cloud infrastructure. The environment is fast, physical, and consequential—when systems go down, production stops. The output is not a dashboard; it is a ship. As Senior Product Manager for Manufacturing Software, you will own the product strategy, roadmap, and success metrics for factory floor applications that production operators, supervisors, and manufacturing engineers rely on every shift. You will deploy these products onto the factory floor, working directly with the people who build ships. Key responsibilities include: developing long-term strategy navigating complex product tradeoffs, integration dependencies, and buy-versus-build decisions; gathering and refining functional and non-functional requirements (capacity, performance, reliability) and synthesizing them into a prioritized backlog; communicating across stakeholders on roadmap and delivery; walking the factory floor to talk directly with technicians and operators about their work and turning insights into product improvements; navigating organizational dynamics between Maritime Digital Production and partner platform teams, advocating from the customer point of view; exploring and incorporating technologies that enhance operational leverage; and driving adoption and enablement of manufacturing software across production and operations teams. You will "see around the corner" for your product, crafting vision and high-level roadmap 6 to 12 months into the future. You become attached to problems, not solutions, seeking real-world context through onsite user research, direct conversations with technicians, internal expert feedback, product data, and industry investigation. You separate what customers ask for from what they actually need, capture core workflows, and translate them into well-scoped requirements and success hypotheses. From design to delivery, you fill gaps to make solutions a reality, proactively communicating with internal teams and stakeholders, approaching solutions with humility and creativity to hit milestones, and setting a high bar for product deployment, adoption, and support on the floor. REQUIREMENTS: - 8+ years in a software product management role or similar leading role in product development - Domain expertise within hardware-related industries such as manufacturing, supply chain, warehousing, or logistics - Demonstrated ability to gather and refine both functional and non-functional requirements (such as capacity, performance, and reliability) and turn them into a prioritized backlog - Strong understanding of the interplay between enterprise systems, including ERP, WMS, MES, PLM, and supplier portals - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with stakeholders across a wide range of technical comfort and to judge whether a request reflects a real underlying need - Demonstrated success working directly with end users in operational environments, including time spent on a production or factory floor observing workflows firsthand - Ability to navigate cross-team and cross-department dynamics, representing the customer point of view and building alignment when priorities differ - Ability to balance requirements across engineering, design, data, and business stakeholders - Demonstrated success decomposing a problem into addressable component parts and arranging the correct sequencing - Proven ability to "see around corners" by crafting product strategy for 6 to 12 months into the future - Comfort maturing a product from MVP to enterprise-grade production - Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time - U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data - Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience building or owning manufacturing execution systems (MES), shop floor control systems, or operational software for factory, warehouse, or field environments - Hands-on experience in manufacturing industries with time spent on assembly lines or in production facilities working directly with operators and technicians - Experience with UI/UX web design tools (e.g., Figma) - Familiarity with frontier AI tooling and AI-assisted software development workflows - Experience in hyper-growth startup-like environments, balancing speed, ambiguity, and long-term platform health - Background in operations research, industrial engineering, lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement methodologies
