Kaizen Labs is modernizing government technology by replacing legacy systems with AI-native software that serves 55+ million Americans across 50+ agencies. As a Senior Product Designer, you'll lead end-to-end design work for government staff and public-facing services, driving research and discovery with customers, writing product requirements, designing high-fidelity prototypes, and collaborating with engineering to ship products. You'll partner with the implementation team on customer deployments, work with business development on RFP prototypes and demos, and create marketing assets as the brand evolves. This high-agency role offers significant scope: you'll influence product strategy, contribute to the internal design system (Trailmix), and wear multiple hats in true startup fashion.
You bring 4–6 years of product design experience, ideally from high-growth startups or agencies, with a strong background in administrative tooling and scalable SaaS design for desktop and mobile. You're proficient in Figma for design and prototyping, comfortable with AI-powered workflows (ChatGPT, Figma Make, Lovable), and excited to work directly with customers. Experience with AI coding tools like Cursor is a plus. The role is hybrid, based in NYC, requiring in-office presence Tuesdays–Thursdays.
