DeepL is seeking a Senior Product Designer to shape the translation experience at the heart of DeepL Translate, an AI-first translation platform used by millions globally. You will join a cross-functional team central to delivering a fast, trustworthy, and scalable product, collaborating closely with product managers and engineering leaders to define and drive the product vision. In this high-impact role, you will solve a critical problem: making translation feel effortless and trustworthy for anyone who needs to communicate across languages—from casual translators to professionals who rely on DeepL daily. You will become an expert on user needs across different segments, conducting both generative and evaluative user research to define problems and validate solutions. You'll gather and evaluate requirements with cross-functional partners, communicate design concepts early and often backed by qualitative insights and quantitative data, and deliver prototypes and final design specifications in Figma. You will own and co-own design artifacts throughout the product lifecycle—discovering problems, defining success, evaluating solutions, and measuring impact. Beyond your immediate team, you will actively contribute to DeepL's broader design community, helping evolve design practices and raise the bar across the company. Required qualifications include 4+ years of product design experience in web applications, strong user-centered design process expertise, and experience designing for B2B audiences (B2C experience is a bonus). You should be confident driving design throughout the entire idea lifecycle, using storytelling to drive stakeholder buy-in, and leveraging both qualitative and quantitative insights. Proficiency in Figma is essential, as is comfort using AI tools like Claude Code to support your work. Experience with products at scale and global presence is important. You must have strong communication and presentation skills and be fluent in English; additional languages like German are advantageous. DeepL offers a hybrid work schedule with team members in the office twice weekly, flexible hours, and a diverse, internationally distributed team of over 1,000 employees across 90+ nationalities. The company, founded in 2017 and backed by top-tier investors including Benchmark, IVP, and Index Ventures, is focused on building secure, intelligent AI solutions and has grown to serve over 200,000 business customers and millions of individuals across 228 markets.
