You will join the Applied Engineering team as a Senior Pre-Sales Engineer based in Singapore, serving the APAC region. This role bridges sales and engineering, combining solutions engineering, architecture, and technical consulting to help customers move from problem to production.
Key responsibilities include leading technical discovery for strategic opportunities, mapping business goals to measurable success criteria, designing and executing POCs that prove value, and building lightweight prototypes and demos using Deepgram SDKs and APIs. You will advise on architecture for accuracy, latency, scalability, and cost across cloud, self-hosted, hybrid, and data residency scenarios.
You will run security and compliance threads critical to APAC, including Singapore PDPA, Japan APPI, Korea PIPA, Australia's Privacy Act, and India's DPDP Act. During evaluations, you'll triage and debug issues, collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Support to unblock customers quickly. You will create reusable assets—working samples, reference architectures, runbooks, and field guides—that scale across the region.
Partnership is central: you'll work with Solutions Architects and Support for seamless continuity after initial wins, stay involved through expansion phases when needed, and enable the field by collaborating with Account Executives, Customer Success Managers, and partners on positioning and technical validation.
You must be based in Singapore with strong overlap to customer business hours across East Asia, Southeast Asia, and ANZ. Excellent written and spoken English is required; additional Asian languages are a strong plus. Familiarity with APAC procurement, InfoSec, and data privacy expectations is essential. Estimated regional travel is 10–20 percent.
In your first 90 days, you'll ramp on Deepgram's product surface, APIs, SDKs, and evaluation methodology. You'll shadow strategic calls, triage low-risk tickets with a partner, and publish an internal field guide on a common APAC pre-sales topic. By day 60, you'll own two evaluations end-to-end, serve as the named technical partner for strategic Account Executives, and deliver a live demo that becomes a reusable asset. By day 90, you'll act as the primary pre-sales technical owner for the region.
